Palm Frond Braiding & Weaving

In this workshop, we’ll be using date palm tree fronds from coming all the way from Al Ahsa in Saudi Arabia, a historical city known for lush date palm trees with endless date fruit varieties.
Palm frond weaving was a major skill performed by our ancestors, who always had huge respect for the palm tree due to it’s unlimited benefits. In-addition to the dates produced, many handicrafts were also made from palm tree fronds.
Shorook Alsayegh is one of the few instructors who are trying to revive this heritage. We’re proud to collaborate with Shorook by managing this exceptional, traditional & artisanal workshop!
